When I first met Rach & Jamie and they told me they were planning a surprise wedding, I was immediately intrigued and excited at the prospect of being in on the secret with a handful of other conspirators.
On a sunny August day, they gathered together their nearest and dearest at The Old Hall Inn in Peak District under the guise of celebrating Jamie’s 40th birthday at a colourful garden party. But as Rach walked in wearing a gorgeous white suit, the gasps were audible as the guests realised what was happening and tissues were passed amongst them. The beautiful humanist service made note of the importance that family held with everyone gathered, and the whole day was not only a celebration of marriage but also the fun, laughter and joy of family was of equal importance putting the children at the centre of everything. Rach & Jamie were joined by their children during the service and the party afterwards included a magical entertainer to spread the happiness. This wedding was one of the most relaxed and intimate I’ve ever shot and an absolute thrill to capture.
