WHITE SYKE FIELDS – A CREATIVE WEDDING VENUE ON THE EDGE OF THE YORKSHIRE WOLDS

When Charlotte from White Syke Fields got in touch and asked me to do a commercial shoot at their venue to showcase their incredible space, I jumped at the chance. This rustic venue is quite new on the wedding scene, but the team there have transformed the barns into fabulous wedding and event spaces. It’s located close to York City Centre, just on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and surrounded by picture perfect woodlands.
With their buildings as a backdrop they give couples the freedom and flexibility to really put their style and personality on their wedding, and with a team of trusted suppliers like Steph from The Rustic Rose Company on hand they can help you make the most of the space if you need some creative ideas.
Charlotte wanted to do a shoot that captured the flexibility of the venue and show how much potential the different settings have to make your event extraordinary.
The Piggery has white washed walls, wooden beams and delicate fairy lights making it the perfect blank canvas for an intimate wedding ceremony.
Nicola from Dittany Entwined created this amazing floral centre piece which echos the natural textures of the building. Incorporating a funky balloon display for a pop of colour.
The rear of the Piggery has huge double doors which can be opened onto a treelined backdrop to flood the room with natural light, and perhaps offer a refreshing breeze while waiting at the bar on a summer’s night.
The Wheelhouse takes rustic barn weddings to the next level. This vast and versatile backdrop has so many cool features, from the exposed bricks to the iron girders in its high ceilings. It’s an amazing space just waiting to be filled with fun and laughter, I can’t wait to photograph the wild parties that are bound to be celebrated here!
Nicola did it again with a stunning floral arrangement using dried flowers and pampas grasses with a touch of metallics for a creative, contemporary look. I just loved these geometric hanging chandeliers, they really give the wow factor!
From this shot you can see just how much space the Wheelhouse has, it allows you to enjoy the formal part of your reception and then go straight into the evenings’ revelry just beyond the pillars.Did I mention that Charlotte is also a brilliant cake baker, whipping up delights for any special occasion? She found the time to create this beauty for our shoot.
